Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "S.L. PEWTRESS & CO / NEW HAVEN CONN," circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with tall collar and flaring rim molding, decorated with a stylized spiral floral motif, accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/2" rim chip. A thin 3 1/2" crack from rim. A 6" firing line from rim on interior, not visible on exterior. Some staining. H 13 1/2".
