Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bottles, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, all with cobalt highlights, one marked "P. MANSFIELD / ROOT BEER," one marked "DEFRESET / LEMON BEER," and one marked "J. CHESTER / LEMON BEER." Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Mansfield bottle with in-the-firing spout chips, a small in-the-firing flaws including a small contact mark above "ROOT BEER." Chester bottle with a shallow spout chip, spout wear, a small iron ping to spout, and wear to molding below maker's mark. DeFrest bottle with spout chips and hairlines from spout and staining to base. H (of tallest) 10 1/2".
