Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, NY State origin, circa 1860, a three-gallon semi-ovoid jug with abstract slip-trailed design of crossing stems with spots, and cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark, stamped "TYLER & CO. / TROY, N.Y.;" and a four-gallon churn with elaborate slip-trailed double-blossomed plant, stamped "ALBANY N Y." Included with this lot is a salt and Rockingham glazed lid. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Jug in essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing ping to proper right side of jug and a salt drip at base. Churn with significant exfoliation, bubbling to cobalt, a 4" hairline from rim on reverse, a shallow 1" rim chip, a minor chip to interior of rim. Lid with a small lime ping to edge and minor wear. H (of jug) 16 1/2".
