One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with an alternating design of stripes and upswept, graduated swags. Areas of wear to cobalt. Some staining and light surface wear to body of jar. H 9 7/8".
