Scarce Glazed Redware Lidded Jar, Wythe County, VA origin, second or third quarter 19th century, bell-shaped jar with rounded shoulder and squared rim, the surface covered in a reddish-brown glaze composed of lead colored with iron or manganese. Includes original tooled lid with matching glaze. Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection. Jar in excellent condition. Chipping to edge of lid. H (including lid) 7 1/4".
