Rare Great Road Manganese-Glazed Redware Jug, Southwestern VA origin, possibly Buck Family, Wythe County, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled spout, and ribbed handle, the surface covered in a glossy, reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection. Very nice condition with some light wear to midsection, light wear to interior of spout, and a piece of applied clay to underside. H 8".
