Glazed Redware Jar, probably Greene County, TN, second or third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, flaring, semi-rounded rim, and thick, arched-lug handles, the surface sparsely covered in a clear lead glaze. In her notes, Carole Wahler describes this jar with the following: "The pot named 'John Wilson' is related to Old Yellar. and, I believe this pot may have a Shaffer." (The jar referred to as "Old Yellar" was sold in Crocker Farm, Inc.'s January 2026 Auction of the Carole Wahler Collection, lot 69.) Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection. Rim chips. While this jar does show wear to its glaze throughout, including on the handles, it appears that it was not entirely glazed when it was made. H 10 1/2".
