Small-Sized Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to Greene County, TN, circa 1850-1880, ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar and semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a clear salt glaze. In her notes, Wahler describes this pitcher with the words, "Super little stoneware pitcher likely made by an earthenware potter." Exhibited: Tennessee Turned, Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900, Museum of East Tennessee History, May 16-October 30, 2011. Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection; Ex-Mary Jo Case. A thin crack through top of handle. Otherwise excellent condition. H 6 1/2".
