Rare Redware Jug with Profuse Copper Slip Decoration, attributed to Christopher Alexander Haun, Greene County, TN, circa 1840-1860, ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, the surface brush-decorated with bold, crossing stripes of copper slip extending from the front to the reverse, applied under a clear lead glaze. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., March 5, 2011, lot 13. Exhibited: Tennessee Turned, Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900, Museum of East Tennessee History, May 16-October 30, 2011. Restored handle. Curving crack extending from base area to shoulder. 7/8" flake to shoulder. 1 1/2" hairline and small flakes to shoulder. H 9".
