Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Greene County, TN origin, circa 1850-1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and distinctive arched-strap handles with depressed terminals, the surface covered in a salt glaze. Provenance: Carole Wahler Collection. Rim with a 1 3/4" rim chip and minor rim chip. One handle with a small chip and light edge wear. Some light wear to body of jar. What appears to be a short crack to midsection is actually a surface scratch. A small base chip and some light base wear. H 10 1/4".
