Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HARRISBURG PA.," attributed to John Young & Co., Harrisburg, PA, circa 1856-1858, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with dramatic rays emanating from the blossom and wavy highlights to the leaves. Slip-trailed stamen above maker's mark. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Includes old wooden stopper. Some raised bubbling to cobalt, minor staining to cobalt, and two shallow pieces of adhered clay to top of spout. H 12 1/2".
