One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "Wm. HASLAGE / & Co. / GROCERS AND / TEA DEALERS / No. 18 Diamond. / PITTS." Freehand stripe decoration above and below. A 1 7/8" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse. Staining and some wear to surface. A small in-the-firing base chip on front. Underside with a small in-the-firing ping with short surface line extending from it, not visible on interior. H 10 1/4".
