Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "FROM / HAMILTON & JONES," Greensboro, PA, circa 1870, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring stenciled flourishes flanking the word, "FROM," and a large stenciled flourish below. A 2" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on reverse. Some staining to surface. In-the-firing contact marks to reverse. A mostly-thin approximately 4 1/2" curving crack on underside with a hairline extending off from it, continuing approximately 3" up reverse. A small chip to interior of rim. A few minor chips and wear to inner rim for lid. H 9 3/4".
