Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H. MYERS," Henry Remmey, Sr. or Jr. at Henry Myers's Baltimore Stoneware Manufactory, Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, ovoid jar with footed base, arched tab handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated on the front with a curving stem featuring a stylized, circular flower blossom flanked by leaves. Reverse decorated with a leafy garland. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and running above the handles. Impressed with "H. MYERS" mark below one handle and decorated with a curving line of cobalt below opposing handle. Base chips, partially in the firing. A 1 1/2" flake to underside along bottom edge. A 1 1/4" surface line in edge of one handle. A 7/8" matte area to cobalt at shoulder. A small in-the-firing ping to base. Long surface lines to interior, not visible on exterior. H 12 3/8".
