Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Glass Runs, Lincoln County, NC origin, circa 1840-1860, highly ovoid jug with tooled spout and ribbed handle, the surface coated in a mottled dark-olive alkaline glaze with dramatic glass runs edged in blue-and-white rutile on the reverse. Excellent form and glaze. Spout chips. Otherwise excellent condition. H 16".
