Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to Lewis Miles's Stony Bluff Manufactory, Horse Creek Valley, Edgefield District, SC, early third quarter 19th century, highly ovoid pitcher with footed base, and tall, slightly flared collar, the surface covered in a dark-olive alkaline glaze with grayish runs, applied over whitish clay. Rim chips. Shallow chipping to spout. Some calcium residue to interior. H 10 1/2".
