Three Glazed Stoneware Canning Jars, Upstate SC origin, late 19th or early 20th century, all of similar tapering form with flared mouths, one with a blackish alkaline glaze, another with a dark-olive alkaline glaze, and a third with a chocolate-brown, Albany-slip-type glaze. Tallest with rim chips and shallow chipping to base. Dark-olive jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with bits of in-the-firing clay adhered to body. Brown-glazed example in excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing stacker mark to top of rim. H (of tallest) 11 1/2".
