Three Pieces of Williamsport, PA Stoneware with Cobalt Decoration, circa 1875-1880, a small-sized, ovoid jug with brushed floral motif, stamped "SIPE, NICHOLS & CO. / Williamsport, Pa.;" an ovoid jar with brushed star-shaped floral motif, stamped "MOORE, NICHOLS & CO / Williamsport, Pa.," and an ovoid pitcher with brushed floral motif, stamped "SIPE & SONS, / W'MSPORT, PA." Provenance: Herb and Carol Hausmann Collection. Jug in essentially as-made condition with faintness to cobalt. Jar with two rim chips, measuring 1 1/2" and 3/4", two short lines in rim, and residue to rim area. Pitcher with flakes to surface, mostly filled with some residue, some surface residue, as well as a discolored in-the-firing contact mark at base on front, including some surface flakes. H (of jug) 9 1/4".
