Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "PAUL: CUSHMANS / STONE.WARE.FACTORY," Albany, NY origin, circa 1810, ovoid jug with footed base, tooled neck, and semi-rounded spout, featuring coggled Paul Cushman pottery maker's stenciling brushed over in cobalt. Additional cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Jug measures roughly three gallons. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Significant cracks ascending from base. Base chips. In-the-firing flaws including a spout chip and flake to handle. H 16 1/2".
