Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Sugar Bowl with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to Arie or Cheever Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1950s-1960s, ovoid form with two applied vertical handles at the shoulder, the surface covered in a gray-green alkaline glaze over a buff-colored ground. Includes original lid with matching glaze and cobalt-decorated finial. Unmarked. Provenance: Frank W. White Collection. Bowl with two small rim chips and an in-the-firing contact mark (flake) to shoulder. Lid in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (including lid) 5".
