Small-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Philadelphia, PA Advertising, attributed to the Richard C. Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "MADE FOR / EMERICK & HOPKINS. / IMPORTERS OF QUEENSWARE. / No 345 NTH ST / PHILADELPHIA." Advertising surrounded by brushed swags and spots. Provenance: Roan Auction; Herb and Carol Hausmann Collection. A 6 1/2" hairline to proper left side of jug. A horizontal hairline through handle. An in-the-firing contact mark beside advertising. H 8 1/2".
