Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, the surface coated in a whitish slip, brush-decorated three times around the shoulder with Bell's distinctive spotted tulip motif, and covered in a light salt glaze. Excellent condition with two rim nicks and some in-the-firing spalling to cobalt. H 7 7/8" ; Diam. (at rim) 7 1/2".
