Fine Three-Gallon Iron-Slip-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "BOSTON.," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, highly ovoid with footed base, heavily tooled shoulder, and narrow mouth, and ribbed handle, decorated with dipped iron slip to the upper and lower body. Excellent form and bold coloring to slip. Very nice condition with base chips, an in-the-firing contact mark to handle, a few minor in-the-firing iron pings to surface, and minor traces of old silver paint to surface. H 16".
