Rare Large-Sized Redware Jar with Manganese Slip Decoration, attributed to Elijah Cornell, Ithaca, NY, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with rounded. slightly-flared rim, the lead-glazed surface featuring brushed manganese bands to the midsection, rim, and base, against a colorful orange and olive ground. Two restored cracks from rim, measuring 13" and 12 3/4". Three minor in-the-firing contact marks to top of rim. A minor flake to underside. H 15 3/8".
