Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. NORTON & CO. / BENNINGTON VT.," circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed vertical floral motif, unusual for this maker. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Staining to exterior. Water glass staining to interior. Two minor chips to exterior of rim. H 9 1/8".
