Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SIPE, NICHOLS & CO. / Williamsport, Pa.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with a large design of a leafy stem bearing two different flower blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Provenance: Herb and Carol Hausmann Collection. A shallow chip to interior of rim. Light surface wear. Some typical in-the-firing iron pings and contact marks. Light exfoliation to underside. H 14".
