Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar with Lock Haven, PA Advertising, attributed to Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and narrow, flaring collar, impressed with the merchant advertising, "THE KEYSTONE STORE / LOCKHAVEN;PA." Albany-slip-glazed. The font used in the mark and typical Cowden & Wilcox canning jar form leads to firm attribution to this pottery. Provenance: Herb and Carol Hausmann Collection. Excellent condition with some staining. H 7 7/8".
