Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug with Rock Teeth, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1975, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with black-slip pupils, incised lashes, ears, hooked nose, broad chin, and mouth with rock teeth. Surface covered in a matte olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. A small chip to proper left ear and a loss to one tooth, possibly in-the-firing. H 9 1/2".
