Unusual Small-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Incised Bird Decoration, probably Southern origin, possibly Middle TN, second half 19th century, ovoid pitcher with short, flaring collar, the surface covered in a chocolate-brown, Albany-slip-type glaze and incised with a design of a long-tailed bird with turned head, perched on a stem. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small in-the-firing base chip. H 4 3/4".
