Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "RICE & BROYLES," Lindside, WV origin, circa 1875, ovoid, bowl-shaped jar with heavy rounded rim, featuring Rice & Broyles maker's stenciling above a brushed foliate motif. Exceptional form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with various small in-the-firing pings to surface. Rim is slightly out-of-round. H 6 3/4" ; W 9 1/2.
