Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Pruntytown, WV origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, brush-decorated with two flowers composed of circular strokes, joined at the stem. Cobalt-script "2" flanked by dashes above. Wavy stripe below rim. Impressed "2" to top of rim. Chips and wear to rim. A minor nick to shoulder molding. Areas of staining to surface. A minor base flake. H 13 1/4".
