Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with applied lug handles and heavy tooling to the shoulder and footed base, decorated on the front and reverse with two different incised floral motifs, highlighted in later blue paint. One side features incising closely related to the iconic "Elizabeth Crane / 1811" punch bowl with incised fish. Significant exfoliation throughout. Rim and base chips. H 9 1/2".
