Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1820-1840, both of cylindrical form with rounded rims, one with cobalt slash decoration, attributed to Branch Green, circa 1820, the other with brushed horizontal floral decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1835. Shorter jar with a spider line to base area, forming a long Y across underside. Taller jar with in-the-firing gritty texture to cobalt, a small in-the-firing base chip, and staining to surface. H (of shorter) 7".
