Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Figure of a Spaniel, attributed to Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA, circa 1865, molded figure of a seated spaniel on base with brushed cobalt highlights throughout and cobalt band to base. Salt-glazed surface. Large loss to base on reverse/side. Additional shallow chipping to base. In-the-making wrinkles in clay, created when the figure was molded. H 7 3/4".
