Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Reclining Dog Decoration, Stamped "BRADY & RYAN / ELLENVILLE. N. Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dog with turned head and curled tail, reclining atop a heavily-shrubbed hill. A 3 3/4" diagonal hairline descending from rim to one handle terminal. One handle with a chip and some roughness. A 2 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse. Three rim chips and a minor rim nick on reverse. Interior of rim with a small chip and a few miniscule nicks. Two minor chips to underside at edge. H 9 3/4".
