Rare Three-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "SPRINGFIELD," OH origin, possibly Daniel Fisk, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with short, semi-rounded spout, the shoulder impressed with the town name in which it was produced, "SPRINGFIELD," below a Roman numeral III, denoting three gallons. A thin, diagonal 5" crack to midsection on front. Typical minor in-the-firing flaws including a small surface chip beside maker's mark. H 15 1/2".
