Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875, a one-gallon cylindrical jar, stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO / PALATINE / W.VA" with stenciled pear motif, paired with a cylindrical tobacco jar, stenciled "FINE / MACCOBOY," Western PA origin. Palatine jar with some surface wear, a 5" horizontal spider crack to reverse, and some blistering to cobalt. Tobacco jar in excellent condition with a minuscule nick to inner rim for lid and some whitish residue to interior. H (of Palatine jar) 10 3/8".
