Two Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Foliate Decorations, Fort Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, a two-gallon crock, stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD N Y;" paired with a four-gallon crock, stamped "FORT EDWARD STONE WARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," both with different foliate motifs and cobalt highlights to the maker's marks and capacity marks. Smaller with flaking to base, a glazed-over rim chip, a post-firing rim chip, some staining, and an in-the-firing flake below one handle. Larger with staining, a few rim chips, a small handle chip, and an in-the-firing iron ping at base. H (of larger) 11 1/4".
