Unusual Miniature Molded G.A.R. Stoneware Canteen, Stamped "HINRICHS CROCKERY CO. / DAVENPORT, IOWA," Dated June 12-14, 1900, one side featuring the relief inscription, "26TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT / DEPT OF IOWA / G.A.R. / DAVENPORT IOWA / JUNE / 12 - 13 - 14 / 1900," the opposite side inscribed "COMPLIMENTS AUG. WENTZ POST No 1 / GAR / DAVENPORT IOWA," surrounding a medal. Impressed with cobalt-highlighted "HINRICHS CROCKERY CO." mark on underside. A flake to one pierced clay handle and a flake to "M" in "ENCAMPMENT." Two small in-the-firing contact marks to opposite side. H 3 1/4".
