Rare One-Gallon Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher with Molded Eagle Motif, Stamped "H. HUMISTON / SOUTH-AMBOY," NJ origin, circa 1830, ovoid pitcher with flaring collar and angled rim molding, decorated with a molded and applied design of a Federal eagle with shield across its chest, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Chipping to spout. An in-the-firing loss to one wing of bird and some in-the-firing glaze spalling to eagle. A minor chip to base of molding below collar. A minor in-the-firing ping to molding below collar. A tiny nick to base of rim. H 10 3/4".
