Rare Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, Stenciled "A.P. DONAGHHO / Parkersburg, W.Va.," Stamped "OK," circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling above a stenciled band of geometric designs and a stenciled "5" flanked by additional stenciling. Impressed with a rare stamp of conjoined letters, "OK," at base, presumably a potter's mark. A 1" chip to interior of rim and a minor chip to exterior of rim. Minor surface wear to reverse. H 13 3/4".
