One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J.A. & C.W. UNDERWOOD / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1865-1867, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Staining to surface. Minor wear to interior of spout. Two minor base chips. A minor surface flake to reverse. H 11 1/2".
