One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front with a sunflower flanked by leaves and on the reverse shoulder with two horizontal tulips. Surface crazing, primarily to reverse, not visible on interior. Chips to handles. A chip to side of rim. A small in-the-firing surface chip to shoulder on front. A 1 1/2" inverted Y-shaped hairline from rim on front. H 10 5/8".
