Rare and Fine Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Two-Color-Slip Floral Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1845-1850, cylindrical jar with tapered shoulder and rounded rim, decorated with a flower-and-looping-drape motif executed in brushed iron slip and kaolin slip against a green alkaline-glazed ground. Provenance: Harmer Rooke Galleries, New York, NY. Excellent condition with a rim chip and some bloated spots to clay. H 10".
