Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs with New England Advertising, attributed to F.B. Norton, Worcester, MA, circa 1870, a two-gallon jug with crossed leaves flanking a spiraling line, stamped "ARTHUR M. EASTMAN / MANCHESTER N.H.," paired with a three-gallon jug with stylized floral motif, stamped "T.F. & G.W. GUY / FITCHBURG MASS." Two-gallon jug with fry to cobalt, two flakes to base area, spots of staining, an in-the-firing iron ping to right of decoration, and some clay residue at base on reverse. Three-gallon jug with fry to cobalt, significant staining, wear to base of handle, and a small chip to interior of spout. H (of two-gallon jug) 14".
