Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Stamped "WHITES BINGHAMTON," NY State origin, third quarter 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jar with brushed floral motif, paired with a three-gallon jar with flowering plant motif. Smaller jar is slightly out-of-round with two rim chips, chips to handles, a short line from rim on front, a long horizontal line at base on reverse, an iron ping at base on reverse, some wear to cobalt, and blackish staining to surface. Larger jar with a small handle chip, short surface lines to front of rim, minor base chips, some whitish residue to cobalt, and staining. H (of smaller) 7 3/4".
