Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, a two-gallon jug with paddletail bird decoration paired with a two-gallon crock with floral decoration. Jug with a 9 1/2" vertical crack on side, which is ground down, continuing onto underside where it forms a Y, and back onto base , where it extends 3" horizontally. Jug also has small chips and nicks to spout, staining to base area, a faint surface line to top of handle and two faint surface lines to base of handle. Crock with a rim chip on reverse and some light staining. H (of jug) 14 1/2".
