Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT. / GREENSBORO, PA.," circa 1885, a two-gallon jar with scrolled vine stenciling and freehand brushwork, paired with a four-gallon jar with stenciled floral motifs and freehand brushwork. Both with Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling at midsection. Two-gallon jar with a 1 1/2" in-the-firing base flake, two unglazed in-the-firing contact marks to surface, surface wear including some wear or fry to cobalt, and a small chip to interior of rim. Four-gallon jar with staining, wear to interior of rim, and some surface wear. H (of taller) 14 1/2".
