One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Belmar, NJ Advertising, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, early 20th century, Bristol-slip-glazed shoulder jug with the cobalt-script advertising, "S. Michelsohn, / Belmar, / N.J." for liquor dealer Solomon Michelsohn. Crazing/thin lines throughout shoulder. A 3 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line descending from base of handle. A small in-the-firing iron ping to base of handle. Four chips to edge of squared shoulder. A 3 5/8" line on side of jug, continuing a short distance onto underside. A line across underside, continuing a short distance onto base. An in-the-firing iron ping and contact mark to left of and below the letter "S." Significant staining. H 11 3/4".
