Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Dog Decoration, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY. CO / PALATINE / WVA," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with a stenciled dog motif surrounded by Palatine Pottery Company maker's stenciling. In-the-firing flaws, including two surface chips and an adhered piece of clay on reverse/side. A small chip to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Some light surface wear. H 10 5/8".
